Photo 39 – Gilded Scrollwork The gilded scrollwork was then backed up. The small lower ornaments were also gilded at the same time. The lower areas were done first, then the glass rotated 180 degrees (upside down), and then the upper areas were done. This kept the water size from running down over the previously completed work.
Photo 40 – Scrollwork Backed Up The embossed borderlines were also gilded with silver leaf, backed up and outlined.
